Being in "the mood"

I know when I'm ovulating because I usually have some right- or left-sided abdominal pain, followed by increased mucus production, and increased libido. :) It's pretty clear to me when something's going on. Even so, I have been using ovulation kits to track my hormone surges, just as an added sanity check.

Ovulation Kit

For me, the ovulation kit did the trick. Twice! When I am ready to tackle number three, I would definitely use this method.

EWCM

It's my biggest tell-tale sign. It amazes me that most women don't even notice this obvious sign. (Not that all women have it, but most do!)

Cervical Mucus

Honestly, I just check cervical mucus and keep an eye on the calendar. I've found that I'm predictable enough that charting BBT adds more stress than information; my c.m. is a pretty reliable indicator, and is the most convenient, too!

I don't look for any

We just have sex every other day all month! I don't bother to check for ovulation signs, too much worry. And anyway, my hubby and I are really into each other.. it's no bother to do it every other day all month! (Except for during my period, obviously!)

From BBT charting to cervical mucus/mood

I used to be an obsessive BBT charter. I never missed a day, and it did help me track ovulation, especially on months when ovulation came very, very late. However, over time, I got tired of BBT charting. So now, I mainly track my sexual mood and my cervical mucus changes. When I notice cervical mucus that looks fertile, and I'm feeling in the mood for sex, I start taking my temp... this way, I can tell if I'm before ovulation or not yet (I've been doing it long enough that I can tell!). We also baby dance the entire time. Then, I temp until I see the temp shift to indicate ovulation. We keep on baby-dancing until my mood for sex goes down... which interestingly always happens two or three days past ovulation! The body is amazing... !!
