How Long Have You Been Blogging
I started just a couple of months ago but have had material building up for years through personal journal and research.
Where Are You on Your Trying to Conceive Journey
I'm happily on the other side, raising a wonderful toddler. But my journey through infertility never left me.
Why Did You Start Your Blog?
I left my career to start a family but we quickly discovered that this was going to be an arduous journey for us. Infertility consumed me. I read, researched and talked to as many professionals as I could. Now that I'm on the other side of it, I want to help (that's why I'm the infertility doula!). I want to provide emotional and practical support to help women navigate the world of IF (infertility). I also keep them abreast of IF news topics.
Tell Us More About Your Blog
I write about anything and everything that relates to IF. While some blogs are purely informative, most of them are very personal. They're about things I've learned along the way, about relationships, expectations and fears. Very few blogs cover both spheres to IF (emotional and practical) and provide a hindsight perspective. I hope people feel like they're getting something more than from blogs written by women who are still in the trenches or doctors who provide the cold facts. Plus, I keep it relevant by regularly discussing current events (on infertility).
Advice
- Write from the heart! This is such a tough road and millions of people are silently suffering. So the support and comfort you can provide to others is priceless. Every story is unique, yet we share so many common threads in our desire and determination to have children. Plus, it's cathartic, so get it out there. Don't let it bottle up.
