Yes, two. I didn't have any trouble having them, but for some reason, can not get pregnant with a third.

Where Are You In Your Trying to Conceive Journey:

Trying to have a baby is in my past now, as we just had a baby. But even though TTC is in my past, it's still very much a part of who I am.

Describe in More Detail Your Infertility Story:

I started trying to have another baby a few years after my second child. I got pregnant right away, but then I had a miscarriage. A few months later, I got pregnant again - and miscarried again. Then, many months later, I got pregnant and miscarried again. We went to a doctor, he did all kinds of blood tests, an HSG, a hysterectomy, a semen analysis, ultrasound. The doctor said I had PCOS, and we started treatments. I finally got pregnant on our fourth treatment cycle with injectable medications.

Infertility changed SO much of my life. It changed even who I was friends with, as some of my friends who had new babies in the meantime just left me without someone to talk to (since they talked and talked about their babies and pregnancy non-stop.) It brought my husband and I closer (after causing many arguments first, though.) It also help me appreciate SO much more the blessing that a child is, and made me appreciate the children I had AND the baby I eventually had via treatments.

Lessons Learned

  • Don't keep it all inside! I didn't tell my friends at first, and I wish I had sooner. Having someone to talk to helped.
  • Get a therapist! They will help you cope through all the mess and still come out in one piece.
  • Try to find other things to focus on in your life, instead of just TTC.
  • Infertility taught me to be so much more appreciative of my health, my friends, my family. I can't explain why, but it just did.
